Revv

signature clarity, punch and precision

for any rig or budget

Revv Amplication is a small but world-class Canadian operation that started out building amplifiers by hand, with detail-oriented focus and high-quality parts.

Taking pride in their products, circuit boards are all hand crafted, yet their modern and original circuit design principals is what allows them to meet their goals of superior tone. Revv’s signature high-gain structures from their Generator series are totally unique, tight and full.

However, as handmade boutique amps just are not generally affordable for most musicians, founder Dan Trudeau wanted to distil these essential tones and make them available to everyone in a less-expensive format, developing pedals that are versatile but yet still feel as great under the fingers as their acclaimed tube amps.

Generator’s “Purple Channel 3” is no exception as it provides one of the most extremely tight and clear distortion available and is one of the most celebrated tones in modern amplification today. The best-selling  G3 pedal delivers this tone, with just the right amount of saturation for any situation, while huge thick tone of the G4 pedal takes its cue from the Generator’s “Red Channel 4”, taking you from warm saturation to all out modern metal in a heartbeat. Adding to the range, the latest G2 pedal is derived from the Generator’s “Green Channel 2” with its expressive crunch tone, so loved by top Nashville session artists for its feel and clarity. All of the G Series pedals stack nicely with each other and work well with Combos, Heads, Pedalboard Rigs or in Effects Loops.

While the D20 lunchbox all tube amp, with it’s built in load and Two notes torpedo cab simulation technology, is the ultimate portable and silent real tube amplifier – the perfect solution for G Series or any other of your favourite pedals.

Meet the Revv G2

Revv’s Green Channel 2 is an expressive crunch channel that is loved by many top Nashville session artists for its feel and clarity.Applying this core tone to an amp-like pedal format, G2 delivers a great boost/overdrive, always-on tone-enhancer or even old-school higher gain sounds.

G2’s real value is in its versatility. While its tonal-focus is perfect for blues, country and classic rock tones, it stacks well as a boost paired with the heavier G3 & G4 pedals for even more flexibility.

Meet the Revv G3

With varying degrees of gain, the pedal allows you to go from thick and chunky rhythm tones, to searing lead tones that will have you cutting through the mix in a heartbeat. However, the aggression toggle switch is where all the magic happens. With blue and red options, this little switch gives you a gain and volume boost to varying levels of intensity.

Additional bass, middle and treble controls allow you to sculpt the EQ output to match the guitar you’re using and this EQ is extra useful in it’s smart filtering, no matter what instrument or rig you’re playing through. This makes G3 totally mix-ready too, keeping the low-end tight and the highs present, with no mud or ice.

I had been working on a transistor version of the Purple channel in my spare time for quite a while. I mentioned it to the guys one night & they said “What are you doing?! Put it in a pedal!” It sounded great right out of the gate but a lot of additional time went into making the G3  feel right under the fingers with even saturation & nice bloom & attack – not flat & sterile. Testing with different kinds of rigs – making it as versatile as possible. I’m very proud of this because even just in early testing we saw it used in studios, on fly-rig boards with cab modeling direct to front of house, in front of big high gain heads, used with little combos. So much positive feedback from touring artists, producers, & session guys – but we still went through over a 16 revisions to get it just right! So much music is being made around the world on this pedal & I can’t wait to hear even more.

-Dan Trudeau, President & Head Designer

Meet the Revv G4 – an amp in a box!

Applying feedback that was received from the G3, Revv have developed the polar opposite for the latest addition to the Revv G Series range. The G4 is a great place to start for thick saturated amp-like tones & a complement to the G3 or any existing rig.

Generator’s Red Channel 4 is a thick gain monster that still has the nuance to cover old school tones. The G4 is an amp-voiced pedal based on this tone used by premier touring & recording guitarists worldwide.

Specs

  • Amp in a box:
Big distorted amp tone, organic feel, & 3 voicing options
  • Plays nicely with:
Combos, Heads, Pedalboard Rigs, in Effects Loops and with Cab Modelling
  • Voicing based on Revv’s signature ‘Red Channel’
The channel that started it all – huge, satisfying tone that still slices through a mix. This amp-voiced pedal lets you bring that tone to a pedal-platform amp, fly-rig, studio, or even just a tight budget.
  • Rich, Wide, Fat Tone
If the G3 is a scalpel, the G4 is a sledgehammer. You will find huge extended low & high-end presence in this pedal, with tons
    of gain on tap.
  • Three Aggression Voices
Red for all out saturation & thickness. Great for fat leads & chunky rhythms. Blue reigns in extra frequencies a bit to tighten things up. Off will get you great classic tones, & dynamic blues breakup.

Revv D20

The ultimate pedal-platform tube amp

Revv is well known in the industry for building stellar handmade all- tube amplifiers in Canada. These boutique amps are highly sought after by touring and recording artists all over the world. However, not everyone needs or can afford a full tube-driven rig. On top of this, practicing, recording at home and silent playing on these tonal monsters can be problematic for most, without even more high-end equipment.

Meet the D20. This all-tube 20-watt head is the first ever amplifier to feature built in Two notes Torpedo cab simulation and switchable internal reactive load, to retain your organic feel and tone when playing without a cab. D20 hosts the world’s finest virtual cabinets, virtual mics, speakers, EQ, and reverb wholly on-board for direct recording, silent playing with headphones and live performance to a front of house PA mix.

Being compatible with Torpedo Remote software to fully customise your tone, via USB, makes D20 perfect for players looking to make their rigs even more portable and fly-in-friendly.

Revv set out to build an amp that not only has this new modern feature set, but still sounded incredible on its own as a standalone amplifier. The output can be switched into a 4-watt mode (great for low-volume practice situations) and with a push/pull gain knob for signature Dynamis cleans or characterful crunch and dirt, is a perfect platform for your favourite pedals.

In addition, in reactive load direct mode, the “Pre/Post” switch selects whether the power amp is in the signal chain. This is so you can also take advantage of Two notes’ power amp simulations and dramatically change the character of the D20 with virtual tubes, such as EL84 etc., for even more tonal variation.

The result is an amp package that is convenient, yet truly great sounding and all at a great price.
